SOURCE Urbanism has collaborated with Atlanta Housing, the Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta, Georgia, as urban design consultants on several redevelopment projects. Atlanta Housing, which owns numerous parcels of land throughout the city, sought to develop these sites in partnership with private firms.
Our role has been to provide framework and development plans to ensure private developers understand Atlanta Housing’s programmatic requirements and architectural vision. Working with Atlanta Housing representatives, we created site plans and massing diagrams to help potential private partners understand the development potential of a given site. We provided Illustrative drawings such as framework plans, renderings, and development diagrams that helped communicate the design intent and desired density to potential stakeholders.
Additionally, we have assisted in creating RFPs for the redevelopment of former public housing sites, including Hollywood Homes and the Palmer Building. Well designed, affordable housing is in low supply in Atlanta. The RFP documents we produced illustrate a new way of viewing affordable housing in the city, from programming to sustainability to design potential.
As Atlanta Housing aims to elevate the design quality of its public housing developments, SOURCE Urbanism serves as a key partner in this initiative.
